Today the Society still functions effectively with about 35 members and provides regular talks, slide and film shows (see diary sheet). The modelling section has its own workshop and supports N Gauge and 00 Gauge groups, we have our own regular annual MR exhibition and our layouts attend many external exhibitions. There are lots of visits to heritage rail sites and rail installations both standard and narrow gauge and also garden railways.
Membership is open to anyone, male or female who is over 14 years of age. The Society is self financing and non-profit making , it has no political or sectarian associations. It is governed by its own constitution and management of the societies affairs are carried out by a 7 man committee elected at an annual general meeting.
Membership costs £20 per annum and to apportion cost more fairly levies are imposed and members pay £1 each for every time they attend. Guests pay £3 each. Modellers pay a mandatory 50p per week for the use of the workshop. Junior members (of school age) pay £5 per annum.
